Chris Hill is the creator of the Beat My Addiction Programme. He is a Lived Experience Practitioner specialising in addiction and mental health and the best-selling author of Get Your Life Back: The Road to Freedom from Addiction. From the success of his book, Chris extracted the Beat My Addictions 7-Day Plan which outlines his entire programme in a simple self-help guide.
In memory of his twin brother Rob Hill who sadly lost his life to an accidental drug overdose in 2014, Chris set up a registered charity The Rob Hill Foundation (charity no. 1181220) offering free addiction and mental health workshops and support groups around the country. He is the CEO and Founder.
Chris’s programme helps people overcome all types of substance addiction such as to nicotine, alcohol, recreational drugs, sugar, caffeine and all other substances; as well as to addictive activities such as gambling, over-spending and over-eating. The programme is also very effective with conditions such as PTSD, trauma recovery, anxiety, stress and depression. He has also successfully helped people with eating disorders, OCD, phobias and much more.
Chris is highly experienced and has had incredible success using his programme to help thousands of people around the world; often dealing with issues completely outside the usual remit such as olfactory syndrome, selective mutism, tinitus and locked-in syndrome.
He has spoken on the world stage, presenting his programme to NIDA (National Institute of Drug Abuse), Washington, USA and challenged the sugar industry in front of the European Parliament and UK Houses of Commons.
Chris is the first person in the UK to open up an addiction and mental health shop on the highstreet; to destigmatize addiction and mental health and make getting help more accessible.
Chris had his own battles with addiction spanning 20 years. He first became addicted to nicotine at the age of seven, progressing to alcohol and drugs (including cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin) later in life. He attended dozens of recovery programmes, experienced many forms of treatment and medications to stop his addictions but found none of them effective. He then set off on a mission to educate himself about how addictive substances affect the subconscious mind and the body and from that, beat his own addictions and dealt with severe anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Following the tragic loss of his twin brother Rob to an accidental drug overdose in 2014, Chris has dedicated his life to helping others recover from addiction and mental health issues, using the system he developed.
