The Mayor of Bexley launches Chris Hill’s Addiction & Mental Health Shop

Addiction expert and best-selling author Chris Hill launches the first Addiction & Mental Health shop on the high street in Sidcup, Kent, UK. The Mayor of Bexley Cllr Brian Bishop, joined by his wife, the Mayoress of Bexley Christine Bishop did the honour of cutting the ribbon on Thursday 13th September 2018.
This date was chosen as it is was Chris Hill’s birthday and would have been that of his twin brother Rob, who he lost to a drug overdose in 2014. The shop and the work Chris does is dedicated to the memory of Rob Hill.
The concept behind opening a shop on the high street is to destigmatise addiction and mental health and to put the message out there loud and clear that there’s nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. We all have addictions, we all suffer from anxiety and stress – let’s make it more socially acceptable to admit there’s a problem and to easily find help to solve it.
